Updates From Chauffard
Hello Kate! How are you? And the family? On our side, everything is fine by the grace of God. The school continues to function despite everything. 75 to 80 percent of the students have returned to school. Everything is going well so far. Next week we will have exams for the second term.
Certainly, it is very difficult to reach Chauffard at the moment. The bandits are still around in some places, looting, assaulting, killing, kidnapping. The situation is very alarming. The road is in poor condition due to frequent rains. No one has intervened to fix it. I, who am used to something, no longer go out. We must wait for a change.
It is a grace from God to have you on our path. 25 years of service is extremely significant and commendable. Your services rendered to Chauffard are priceless. Hundreds of people have benefited from your gifts in all areas. A thousand thanks for everything. I never cease to think of you in prayer. Masses will be celebrated for your intentions during the month of June. A thousand thanks for your patience, your generosity, understanding, and more. I love you all from the bottom of my heart because the parish and I live thanks to your material, economic, spiritual, etc. support. May God bless you again!!!
Good evening, Kate! How are you? I am very happy with your generosity in helping us find something to eat. It is an exceptional initiative. However, it is really difficult and even impossible to bring anything to Chauffard. All the roads leading to Chauffard are occupied by bandits day and night. They are really aggressive and violent. They can do anything: steal, rape, and loot. Other things as well: arriving with food in Chauffard will further complicate our secret at the Rectory. The bandits can come at any time to the presbytery and demand everything. For now, it is not recommended at all. No roads, the current rains have cut everything off. No one has done anything to fix them. It is very difficult for a car to reach Chauffard. I have always arranged repairs for opening the roads. I can do nothing, people have abandoned everything. For a project like this, one needs to wait a bit. I am closely observing the situation and I will inform you when it is possible. Since January 25, I cannot go anywhere. I remain in Chauffard despite the daily tensions in the area.
Nevertheless, we always keep the faith at its highest level. More students came to school this week. The church is doing well. We maintain hope. I will never stop thanking you for your sense of service. Thank you for being on our path to help us in every way. GOD is taking notes. May He protect you on the road of your life. Shower of blessings!!!Good evening, Kate! Very very happy to hear from you again. We thank the Lord for all his blessings. The school in Chauffard has resumed well. The teachers have come to work, many students are also coming even though the total is not yet reached. We are waiting. Buying food for the children seems really complicated. The transfer is extremely difficult. The same goes for the bandits who pillage and steal in all kinds, I don't want the presbytery to become a target. Only, if you could help me pay the teachers, I would be happy. We continue to keep hope, one day things will go well. A thousand thanks for thinking of us in Chauffard. May the Lord bless you abundantly!
